dont-approach-the-dogs-bamboo-gate-sign
Please Don’t Approach the Dogs Sign | Bamboo | Outdoor | Paw Prints

A Please Don't Approach the Dogs bamboo gate sign, 200×65mm — laser-engraved with a paw print design and standard or custom text on FSC-certified Moso bamboo (certificate RINA-COC-001256). It ties securely at four points around a gate cross beam, sitting flush against the beam rather than hanging free — which is what makes it suitable for outdoor use. For nervous, anxious or reactive dogs whose owners need visitors and passers-by to keep their distance. Made to order in our workshop in North Wales.

How to order

Choose Standard Text or Custom Text from the variants

If choosing Custom Text, add your wording in the personalisation box

Add to basket — bulk discounts apply automatically from 20 units

Specifications

Material: FSC-certified Moso bamboo (certificate RINA-COC-001256)

Size: 200mm wide × 65mm tall

Design: Paw print motif with Please Don't Approach the Dogs wording (standard) or custom text

Fixing: Four holes — ties securely at four points around a gate cross beam

Suitable for outdoor use

All items are made to order. The bamboo version is the one to use outdoors.

Will it need any maintenance outdoors?
Like any bamboo left outdoors, it will green over time from algae and general weathering unless cleaned regularly — a soft brush and water is usually enough. A UV-protective bamboo oil or sealer can slow this further if you'd like to treat it yourself, though this isn't a finishing service we offer.

Why is this tied rather than bolted or screwed to the gate?
Bamboo at this thickness is strong, but drilling a hole for a bolt or screw concentrates stress at exactly the point a split is most likely to start — so bolting can risk cracking the sign, sometimes during fitting. Tying it securely around the cross beam avoids that entirely, while still holding it flush and rigid so it can't swing or knock in the wind.

Is this the same as your other dog signs?
No — this is the only dog sign in the range made for outdoor use. The indoor range (dogs welcome, keep on lead, paws on the floor, off the furniture) is engraved on oak veneered MDF and listed in the dog signs collection below.

Also see: all dog signs and dog friendly signage · No Dogs & Pet Policy Signs · bamboo vs oak vs plywood · all wooden signs
