Sustainability at the Heart of Cherry Grove Craft: Our Ethical Sourcing Practices

At Cherry Grove Craft, we take great care in sourcing the materials for our handmade products. We prioritise the use of eco-friendly and sustainable materials whenever possible, as part of our commitment to reducing our environmental impact.

One of the materials we use is natural jute string. This versatile material is biodegradable and compostable, making it an excellent choice for our packaging and display needs. It is also durable and strong, making it perfect for hanging our wooden signs and keyrings.

For our personalised signs and keyrings, we use sustainable oak veneered MDF. This is a high-quality material that is both strong and eco-friendly, as it is made from wood chips and sawdust that are compressed and bonded together using heat and resin. The oak veneer gives our products a beautiful, natural finish that is both timeless and elegant. We use this for our eco-friendly cycling wall art.

In addition to oak veneered MDF, we also use sustainable solid oak in some of our products. Solid oak is a premium material that is highly durable and resistant to wear and tear. It is also a sustainable choice, as it is sourced from responsibly managed forests.

Another material we use is sustainable Moso bamboo. This fast-growing plant is one of the most sustainable materials available, as it can be harvested every 3-5 years without harming the environment. We use Moso bamboo for our eco-Bamboo Name Badges, which is both stylish and environmentally responsible.

We are also proud to use locally sourced slate for some of our products, including our slate hanging signs. This beautiful natural material is sourced from quarries in the UK, reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation.

At Cherry Grove Craft, we are committed to reducing our use of plastics wherever possible. The only plastic we use are in our name badge fittings, which we are actively working to find sustainable alternatives for. Additionally, we use paper-based packing tape, paper envelopes, and recycled cardboard boxes for our shipping and packaging needs.
