Collection: Dog Signs & Dog Friendly Signage

Q: What should a dog friendly sign say?

For an entrance, Dogs Welcome with the house rule attached — keep on lead, paws on the floor, or water bowls provided — does the whole job in one sign. Inside, use one rule sign per rule rather than a list.

Q: Are the dog signs suitable for outdoor use?

The oak signs are for indoor use. The one outdoor sign is the bamboo gate sign, which is tied flat against a gate beam so it cannot swing in the wind.

Q: Is there a minimum order or a discount for several venues?

No minimum. Bulk discounts start at 20 units (10%) and rise to 35% at 1,000 units, applied automatically at checkout.

Laser-engraved wooden dog signs for pubs, cafés, shops, holiday lets, Airbnbs and homes — dogs welcome signs, keep dogs on lead signs, paws on the floor and off the furniture notices, dog treat and water station signs, and dog rules for guests. Engraved, never printed, on FSC-certified 4mm oak veneered MDF or FSC-certified Moso bamboo, in hanging, freestanding and circular formats. Every sign is made to order in our workshop in North Wales, and bulk discounts apply automatically from 20 units. Need a sign that says dogs are not allowed? See the No Dogs & Pet Policy Signs collection.

Not sure what to order? Our venue-by-venue buying guide covers which signs to use and where to put them, and the dog friendly signs guide covers wording, placement and the legal position on dogs in venues.

Business or home?

Most signs here work for both. Pubs, cafés, shops and dog-friendly hotels usually need an entrance sign plus one rule sign (lead, paws or furniture) and a station sign. Holiday lets and Airbnbs usually need freestanding furniture and upstairs signs — they sit on surfaces without fixings — plus a treat station sign by the back door. Add your property or business name in the personalisation box on any sign that offers it.

Personalisation

Every sign ships with its standard wording unless you type replacement text in the personalisation box at checkout. Signs with a logo upload button accept PNG or JPG artwork — black and white engraves most cleanly, and colour logos can usually be converted. Proofs are not sent as standard; ask in the personalisation box if you need one.

Frequently asked questions

What should a dog friendly sign say?
For an entrance, "Dogs Welcome" with the house rule attached — keep on lead, paws on the floor, or water bowls provided — does the whole job in one sign. Inside, use one rule sign per rule rather than a list.

Can dogs legally be allowed in a café or pub in the UK?
Yes. There is no law in England, Scotland or Wales preventing dogs in cafés, pubs or shops — it is the venue's decision. Dogs should be kept out of food preparation areas, and assistance dogs have a right of access under the Equality Act 2010 regardless of your policy.

Are the dog signs suitable for outdoor use?
The oak signs are for indoor use — entrances, hallways, bars and interior doors. The one outdoor sign is the bamboo gate sign, which is tied flat against a gate beam so it cannot swing in the wind.

Can I change the wording or add my logo?
Yes on most signs. Type your replacement wording in the personalisation box; where a logo upload button is shown, upload a PNG or JPG. Signs listed as standard-wording-only say so on their product page.

What is the difference between the hanging, freestanding and stand versions?
Hanging signs have two holes and a jute loop and come in four sizes. Freestanding signs are smaller (74×112mm or 115×168mm) and slot into a removable base, so they sit on tables and sofa arms without fixings. A5 and A4 signs are flat panels for walls or counters, with an optional push-fit stand.

Is there a minimum order or a discount for several venues?
No minimum — order one sign at full price. Bulk discounts start at 20 units and apply automatically, so a pub group or holiday-let operator fitting out several sites gets the discount without contacting us.

Do you make "no dogs" signs as well?
Yes — polite and firm versions, plus no dogs upstairs and no dogs on furniture signs, in the No Dogs & Pet Policy Signs collection.
