What are personalised wooden medals?
Personalised wooden medals are laser-engraved award medals made from wood — in our case, 4mm oak veneered MDF — rather than the standard zinc alloy or plastic used in mass-produced medals. They are engraved with your event name, club logo and any position or achievement wording, supplied with a ribbon. Because they are engraved rather than printed, the text and design are permanent and do not fade. They are used for school sports days, 5K and 10K runs, triathlons, swimming galas, sailing regattas, dance competitions, archery events and any other occasion where a standard medal would work but something more distinctive is preferred.

Are wooden medals eco-friendly?
Relative to the zinc alloy and plastic used in standard mass-produced medals, oak veneered MDF is a significantly better choice on most environmental metrics. Wood-based materials biodegrade over time; zinc and plastic do not. We do not describe the medals as eco-friendly as a blanket claim, but the material facts are straightforward: oak veneer over a wood-fibre core, no synthetic coatings, no fossil-fuel-derived plastics.

What events are these suitable for?
Any sports event — marathons, 5K and 10K runs, school sports days, swimming galas, football, archery, cycling, triathlons, dance competitions, sailing regattas and more. Also used for school achievement awards, club end-of-season presentations and charity fundraising events.

Packaging

We keep our packaging simple with a rustic feel and, more importantly, kinder to the environment. All packaging is paper-based, including the tape used to seal parcels, and is sourced from responsibly managed forests.

As each item is made to order, we can only accept returns where there is a manufacturing issue or we are at fault.

Materials & Care

Our products are made from natural materials, including:

• Oak veneered MDF – ideal for indoor use, not suitable for damp or outdoor environments

• Bamboo – more water resistant and suitable for items like name badges, but lightweight and not recommended for outdoor signage in windy conditions

To ensure longevity, we recommend keeping all items dry and avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture.
