NFC Name Badges: The Smarter Alternative to Printed Business Cards
Share
The business card has not changed in decades. You hand one over, the other person puts it in their pocket, and it ends up in a drawer or a bin within a week. NFC name badges solve the same problem — sharing contact details — but in a way that actually works.
Tap an NFC-enabled phone to the badge and the contact details, LinkedIn profile, or website URL are transferred instantly. No app, no QR code to scan, no fumbling with cards. The exchange takes a second and the information goes directly into the person's phone.
What makes our NFC badges different
Most NFC badges are plastic or printed card. Ours are laser-engraved oak veneer — your company logo and the badge holder's name are permanently engraved into the material. The NFC chip is embedded invisibly in the badge itself. The result is a badge that looks and feels premium, reflects well on the person wearing it, and works as both a standard name badge and a digital contact-sharing tool.
They come with eco-friendly lanyards as standard and are available as individual badges or in bulk for teams and events. Each badge is programmed to your chosen URL — LinkedIn profile, contact page, vCard, or any other destination.
Who uses NFC wooden name badges
- Networking events and conferences — delegates swap contact details without cards; organisers can offer a premium badge that adds value to the event itself
- Sales teams — field sales staff wearing an NFC badge can share their details with a single tap during a meeting or at a trade show
- Hospitality and front of house — hotel managers and restaurant hosts can direct guests to a review page, booking link, or loyalty programme with a tap
- Exhibitions and trade shows — stand staff can capture interest without relying on visitors to hold onto a card
- Recruitment and HR — recruiters at university careers fairs can share roles and application links instantly
How the NFC technology works
Every modern iPhone and most Android phones can read NFC without any app. The badge holder simply holds their phone near the badge — within a few centimetres — and the programmed URL opens automatically. There is nothing for the visitor to download or install.
Each badge is pre-programmed before dispatch. If you need to update the destination URL after ordering, NFC chips can be reprogrammed using a free NFC app on any compatible phone.
