Can I add my dog's name?
Yes — choose Custom Text and add your preferred wording in the personalisation box.

Do you have an oak version?
Oak is not recommended for gate use as it is less weather-resistant. The bamboo version is the better choice for outdoor use.

Will it need any maintenance outdoors?
Like any bamboo left outdoors, it will green over time from algae and general weathering unless cleaned regularly — a soft brush and water is usually enough. A UV-protective bamboo oil or sealer can slow this further if you'd like to treat it yourself, though this isn't a finishing service we offer.

Why is this tied rather than bolted or screwed to the gate?
Bamboo at this thickness is genuinely strong, but drilling a hole for a bolt or screw concentrates stress at exactly the point a split is most likely to start — so bolting can risk cracking the sign, sometimes during fitting. Tying it securely around the cross beam avoids that entirely, while still holding it flush and rigid so it can't swing or knock in the wind.
