Frequently asked questions

Why wood for a fifth anniversary?
Wood is the traditional fifth-anniversary material in the UK and the US — the idea being that by five years the marriage has roots. Oak is the obvious choice.

Can I add our names or the date?
This listing is fixed wording. For names and a date with a heart design, see the personalised heart keyring, or put the full message of your choice on the custom text oak keyring.

What is the difference between untreated and Danish oiled oak?
Untreated oak is the natural pale veneer, left as it comes off the laser. Danish oil darkens it to a warm honey tone, brings the grain up and gives the surface some protection from greasy hands and the occasional splash. Both are the same FSC-certified oak veneered MDF.

What other personalised keyring gifts do you make?
At 65×35mm in Danish-oiled oak: the personalised heart keyring, Japanese “I Love You” keyring, yoga keyrings, personalised cat keyring, sailing boat name keyring and sail number keyring. Also the 5th anniversary keyring, Best Dad and Best Grandad keyrings, Our New Home keyring, rabbit keyring, a 90mm round keyring for longer messages, and the personalised XL keyring.

Materials & Care

Our products are made from natural materials, including:

• Oak veneered MDF – ideal for indoor use, not suitable for damp or outdoor environments

• Bamboo – more water resistant and suitable for items like name badges, but lightweight and not recommended for outdoor signage in windy conditions

To ensure longevity, we recommend keeping all items dry and avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture.
