A Food Allergy Notice oak hanging sign for cafés, restaurants, food stalls, buffets and any venue that needs to communicate allergen information. The standard wording advises customers to ask about allergens — or add your own custom text. Laser-engraved on FSC-certified 4mm oak veneered MDF in four sizes with a jute string loop. Made to order in our workshop in North Wales.

Frequently asked questions

Is this sign plastic-free?
Yes — FSC-certified oak veneered MDF and a jute string loop, nothing else, packed in card and paper. FSC is a recognised eco-label, and Green Key's hotel criteria include a supplier-engagement criterion (13.4), a guideline for purchased products arriving without plastic packaging (6.18) and, from 2026, an imperative Sustainable Procurement Policy; Green Tourism scores sustainable procurement, so it is usable as procurement evidence — see our guide to wooden signage as a sustainable alternative to plastic.

How does it hang?
Through the two pre-drilled holes with the jute string supplied — on a hook, nail or door handle. It can also be fixed flat to a wall with your own adhesive pads or screws.

Packaging

We keep our packaging simple with a rustic feel and, more importantly, kinder to the environment. All packaging is paper-based, including the tape used to seal parcels, and is sourced from responsibly managed forests.

Materials & Care

Our products are made from natural materials, including:

• Oak veneered MDF – ideal for indoor use, not suitable for damp or outdoor environments

• Bamboo – more water resistant and suitable for items like name badges, but lightweight and not recommended for outdoor signage in windy conditions

To ensure longevity, we recommend keeping all items dry and avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture.
