A specials board with a wipeable blackboard face and an engraved oak heading and logo, A4 portrait, for a counter, shelf or wall. Frequently asked questions
Which pens work on the blackboard?
A liquid chalk pen wipes cleanly with a damp cloth and gives a bright, even line. Ordinary stick chalk works too but is dustier. Permanent markers and paint pens do not wipe off.
Can the heading say something other than Specials?
Yes — any short heading. Welcome, Today's Menu, Soup of the Day, Opening Hours and Daily Deals are all common; type it in the personalisation box.
Frame with insert, or one-piece board?
This is the oak-framed version: a 4mm oak veneered MDF frame around a separate blackboard insert. The one-piece version bonds the oak face directly onto a blackboard surface, so there is no frame edge around the writing area — it is made in blackboard only; see one-piece oak and blackboard specials board. Same A4 size, same engraving, same stand option.
Which specials board should I choose?
This is the oak-framed blackboard specials board. The others are oak-framed whiteboard specials board and one-piece oak and blackboard specials board. Whiteboard suits a bright café counter and dry-wipe pens; blackboard suits chalk-pen menus and darker interiors. Our guide to café table signs covers what to write on them.

Materials & Care
Materials & Care
Our products are made from natural materials, including:
• Oak veneered MDF – ideal for indoor use, not suitable for damp or outdoor environments
• Bamboo – more water resistant and suitable for items like name badges, but lightweight and not recommended for outdoor signage in windy conditions
To ensure longevity, we recommend keeping all items dry and avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture.
