What Are Our Eco Lanyards Made From?

Direct answer: our lanyards are made from recycled material rather than virgin polyester, with a safety breakaway clip as standard — the same lanyard supplied with every lanyard-fastening name badge we make. Here's what to know if lanyard material or safety features matter for your order.

The lanyard material

Our eco lanyards use recycled material rather than virgin polyester webbing, reducing the amount of new plastic used per badge. They're supplied as standard with every wooden name badge ordered in a lanyard format.

Safety breakaway clip

Every lanyard includes a safety breakaway clip — the lanyard releases under pressure rather than staying fastened, which is a standard safety feature in many workplaces and at events where lanyards are worn around machinery, doors or crowds.

Which badges come with an eco lanyard

Every lanyard badge we make comes with the eco lanyard as standard, including the eco staff name badges, the round lanyard badge, school staff badges and QR code name badges. Our guide to ordering wooden name badges covers every fastening option.

Frequently asked questions

Can I choose a lanyard colour?
No. Lanyard colour is not an option on our listings; each lanyard badge comes with its standard recycled lanyard and breakaway clip.

Is the breakaway clip a legal requirement?
Requirements vary by workplace and event, but a breakaway clip is widely considered best practice wherever a lanyard is worn around moving machinery, doors or in crowds.

Can I buy replacement lanyards separately?
No. Lanyards come with the lanyard badges; there is no separate lanyard listing.
