A thicker, more premium take on our bamboo hotel door hanger — engraved onto 5mm FSC-certified Moso bamboo (certificate RINA-COC-001256) for genuine extra strength and a satisfying weight in the hand. Fits most standard door handles with a 51mm hole. One side reads "Do Not Disturb," the other "Refresh & Renew" — simply flip it round depending on what your guest needs. Personalise with your hotel or guesthouse name or logo. Made to order in our workshop in North Wales.

How is this different from your standard 3mm bamboo door hanger?
This is our new premium 5mm range — genuinely thicker, noticeably heavier in the hand, and more resistant to splitting under everyday handling than our original 3mm bamboo, for a small price premium. Same double-sided Do Not Disturb / Refresh & Renew design. If budget is the main factor, our original 3mm bamboo door hanger remains a great, well-priced option. It's the one we use ourselves day-to-day, and the extra thickness is genuinely noticeable.

Why does thickness matter for bamboo?
Bamboo is genuinely strong along its fibres but can be prone to splitting if real pressure is applied across the grain — a well-documented property of the material, not a manufacturing defect. A thicker cross-section gives a crack more material to work through before it can propagate, meaningfully improving resistance to this specific failure mode. Do you offer this in oak?
Yes — see our oak door hanger, our most budget-friendly option across all three. Different double-sided wording (Do Not Disturb / Please Clean the Room) and a warmer, more traditional look.

Do you have a vertical-text version?

Packaging

We keep our packaging simple with a rustic feel and, more importantly, kinder to the environment. All packaging is paper-based, including the tape used to seal parcels, and is sourced from responsibly managed forests.

Materials & Care

Our products are made from natural materials, including:

• Oak veneered MDF – ideal for indoor use, not suitable for damp or outdoor environments

• Bamboo – more water resistant and suitable for items like name badges, but lightweight and not recommended for outdoor signage in windy conditions

To ensure longevity, we recommend keeping all items dry and avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture.
