Inner Calm Coins are a set of eight 30mm birch plywood pocket coins, each laser-engraved with a different calming technique — from a gratitude list to 5-4-3-2-1 grounding — supplied in a pocket-sized jute pouch. They are a gift for someone going through a stressful time, a pupil who finds the school day hard, or anyone who would like a small prompt in a pocket, bag or pencil case. Made to order in our workshop in North Wales.

The eight techniques

  • List 5 things you are grateful for
  • Draw your happy place
  • Do nothing for 5 minutes
  • Mindful breathing to a calming song
  • Go or look outdoors and watch the world go by
  • Say how you feel aloud — support yourself as you would a friend
  • Self-hug: fold your arms across your body, rest your hands on your shoulders and squeeze
  • Grounding: see 5 things, feel 4, hear 3, smell 2, taste 1

The coins are a gentle everyday prompt, not a treatment, and they are not a substitute for support from a GP or a mental health professional.

Frequently asked questions

Can the coins be personalised?

Not this set — the eight techniques are fixed. For coins with your own wording, see the personalised oak hug tokens (set of 8) or a single hug token with your chosen phrase.

Are they suitable for children?

They suit older children with an adult reading through the techniques with them first. Each coin is 30mm across, small enough to be a choking risk, so they are not suitable for children under 3.

How are these different from hug tokens?

Inner Calm Coins each give the holder something to do — breathe, ground, list, draw. Hug tokens carry a message of comfort or kindness to keep. Both are in our wellbeing gifts.

Returns

As each item is made to order, we can only accept returns where there is a manufacturing issue or we are at fault.

Materials & Care

Our products are made from natural materials, including:

• Oak veneered MDF – ideal for indoor use, not suitable for damp or outdoor environments

• Bamboo – more water resistant and suitable for items like name badges, but lightweight and not recommended for outdoor signage in windy conditions

To ensure longevity, we recommend keeping all items dry and avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture.

Will I see a proof?

Proofs are not provided as standard - if you need one, please request it in the personalisation box when ordering.
