Supply the surname and we research and write the engraving text for you: the serious version draws on genuine etymology and heritage; the humorous version invents an entertainingly plausible backstory. Available in four sizes with a jute string loop. A distinctive wedding, anniversary or birthday gift for someone who has everything. Made to order in our workshop in North Wales.

The serious version uses genuine etymology — language roots, historical usage and geographic origin. The humorous version invents a plausible but fictional backstory written to raise a smile.
Can you do any surname?
Yes — we research each one individually. Unusual or rare surnames often make for the most interesting results.
Can I see the text before it's engraved?
Proofs are not provided as standard. If you'd like to approve the wording first, add a note in the personalisation box — this may affect dispatch time.

We keep our packaging simple with a rustic feel and, more importantly, kinder to the environment. All packaging is paper-based, including the tape used to seal parcels, and is sourced from responsibly managed forests.

Our products are made from natural materials, including:
• Oak veneered MDF – ideal for indoor use, not suitable for damp or outdoor environments
• Bamboo – more water resistant and suitable for items like name badges, but lightweight and not recommended for outdoor signage in windy conditions
To ensure longevity, we recommend keeping all items dry and avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture.
