Frequently asked questions

Which size should I choose?

Small (102 × 74mm) suits close-range doors such as treatment rooms and offices. Medium (158 × 115mm) and Large (225 × 164mm) suit most shop and café door panels. Extra Large (270 × 190mm) is for wide glazing or a sign that has to read from across the street.

Does this sign have a Closed side?

No — it is single-sided. For a sign that reads Open on one face and Closed on the other in bamboo, see the slim bamboo Open and Closed sign, which carries the standard Open / Closed wording only. The oak personalised Open and Closed sign takes a logo.

Should I choose bamboo or oak?

The wording and four sizes are the same. This version is made from FSC-certified Moso bamboo (certificate BV-COC-190523); the oak version is made from FSC-certified oak veneered MDF.

Read the guide to choosing an open, closed or opening hours sign.

Returns

Materials & Care

Our products are made from natural materials, including:

• Oak veneered MDF – ideal for indoor use, not suitable for damp or outdoor environments

• Bamboo – more water resistant and suitable for items like name badges, but lightweight and not recommended for outdoor signage in windy conditions

To ensure longevity, we recommend keeping all items dry and avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture.

Will I see a proof?

Proofs are not provided as standard - if you need one, please request it in the personalisation box when ordering.

The quality of the sign is excellent and the personalisation perfect. I would just have liked the word ‘in' to start with a capital letter as with the other two words
