Frequently asked questions

Which size should I choose?

Small (102 Γ— 74mm) suits close-range doors such as treatment rooms and offices. Medium (158 Γ— 115mm) and Large (225 Γ— 164mm) suit most shop and cafΓ© door panels. Extra Large (270 Γ— 190mm) is for wide glazing or a sign that has to read from across the street.

How is this different from the other oak Open and Closed sign?

It is the same double-sided oak format in the same four sizes as the standard Open and Closed sign, and both take a logo and business name β€” compare the listing photos for the layout you prefer. The slim oak sign is a narrower format that takes text only, and the slim bamboo sign is the FSC-certified bamboo version of it.

Can I show my opening hours as well?

For a full seven-day hours display, use the custom opening hours sign. The two work together: Open and Closed on the door, your hours in the window.

Read the guide to choosing an open, closed or opening hours sign.

Packaging

We keep our packaging simple with a rustic feel and, more importantly, kinder to the environment. All packaging is paper-based, including the tape used to seal parcels, and is sourced from responsibly managed forests.

Returns

As each item is made to order, we can only accept returns where there is a manufacturing issue or we are at fault.

If there are any problems with your order, please contact us and we’ll resolve it quickly.

Materials & Care

Our products are made from natural materials, including:

β€’ Oak veneered MDF – ideal for indoor use, not suitable for damp or outdoor environments

β€’ Bamboo – more water resistant and suitable for items like name badges, but lightweight and not recommended for outdoor signage in windy conditions

To ensure longevity, we recommend keeping all items dry and avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture.

Will I see a proof?

Proofs are not provided as standard - if you need one, please request it in the personalisation box when ordering.

Really well made, lovely natural wood -perfect!

These are actually the cutest things I’ve ordered in a long time! I ordered a few things for my facial clinic - an open/closed door sign complete with booking QR codes, and individual treatment room signs. They’re really well made, lovely natural wood, and absolutely what I was hoping for. Love them!
