Frequently asked questions

How is this different from the compact Out of Order hanger?

Same oak and hole. The 89 x 144mm compact hanger carries the wording alone; this full-height version has space for a name, a logo or a second line such as β€œPlease use the facilities on the ground floor”.

Can I change the heading?

Yes β€” β€œTemporarily Closed”, β€œNot in Use” and β€œUnder Maintenance” are common. Type the full wording you want in the personalisation box.

Will it fit my door handle?

The 51mm hole slips over a standard round knob or the lever of most UK internal doors. For a wide bar handle or a lever you cannot slide it over, the open-hook door hanger hooks on from the side; for hotel handles with a large rose, the wide hotel door hanger has a 70mm hole.

Returns

Materials & Care

Our products are made from natural materials, including:

β€’ Oak veneered MDF – ideal for indoor use, not suitable for damp or outdoor environments

β€’ Bamboo – more water resistant and suitable for items like name badges, but lightweight and not recommended for outdoor signage in windy conditions

To ensure longevity, we recommend keeping all items dry and avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture.

Will I see a proof?

Proofs are not provided as standard - if you need one, please request it in the personalisation box when ordering.
