What is a Do Not Disturb sign?

Sizes

The classic hotel hanger is 203 × 89mm or 210 × 89mm, tall enough to read from a few steps down a corridor. The compact formats, 89 × 144mm and 89 × 137mm, suit narrower doors and boutique rooms. All use a 51mm handle hole except the 105 × 203mm wide hanger (70mm hole) and the 75 × 185mm open-hook hanger for large handles.

The hanging Do Not Disturb signs come in Small 102 × 74mm, Medium 158 × 115mm, Large 225 × 164mm and Extra Large 270 × 190mm, each with two pre-drilled holes and a jute string loop. Choose the size by reading distance: Small for a desk or a close-up door, Large or Extra Large for a corridor or reception.

Oak or bamboo

Both are laser-engraved, so the mark is cut into the wood and does not fade, peel or rub off. FSC-certified 4mm oak veneered MDF engraves with consistent dark contrast and is the lower-priced option. FSC-certified Moso bamboo (certificate RINA-COC-001256) is paler with a more even grain and suits contemporary and eco-focused properties. Both are for indoor use only, and orders are dispatched without plastic packaging.

The 51mm hole fits standard UK round knobs and most internal lever handles. For heavy commercial or period levers choose the 105 × 203mm wide hanger with a 70mm hole, or the 75 × 185mm open-hook hanger, which slides on from the side. Measure the widest part of the handle before ordering in quantity, and order a single sample first if you are unsure.

Can I get a reversible do not disturb sign?
Yes. The hotel door hangers are reversible, with a different message on each face — most commonly Do Not Disturb on one side and Please Clean the Room or Refresh & Renew on the other. The wall and door signs carry a single message.

Can I add my name, logo or own wording?
