A compact Please Do Not Disturb door hanger laser-engraved on FSC-certified Moso bamboo (certificate BV-COC-190523), 89mm wide by 144mm tall — the politer wording for a shared house, a guest room or a client-facing door. Bamboo gives a pale, even grain and a lighter look than oak. Hangs over the door handle through a 51mm hole — no fixings, no drilling. The hanger is bamboo only, with no plastic, and orders are dispatched without plastic packaging. Made to order in our workshop in North Wales.

Frequently asked questions

Please Do Not Disturb or Do Not Disturb?

This one reads Please Do Not Disturb. The bamboo Do Not Disturb hanger is the same size with the shorter wording; in oak, one listing offers both as a dropdown.

Is it suitable for a holiday let?

Yes — it is the wording most guests expect, and the bamboo matches the bamboo hotel door hangers if you use those in the bedrooms. See our guide to signage for holiday lets and Airbnbs.

Will it fit my door handle?

The 51mm hole slips over a standard round knob or the lever of most UK internal doors. For a wide bar handle or a lever you cannot slide it over, the open-hook door hanger hooks on from the side; for hotel handles with a large rose, the wide hotel door hanger has a 70mm hole.

Which Do Not Disturb hanger should I order?

Compact 89 × 144mm: oak with logo and custom text, oak with a choice of two wordings, bamboo Do Not Disturb or bamboo Please Do Not Disturb. Full-height 203 × 89mm: oak with your name or logo. Two-sided for a room that is sometimes free: the reversible hotel hanger or the Yep / Nope hanger. Our guide to do not disturb signs and door hangers compares them.

Materials & Care

Our products are made from natural materials, including:

• Oak veneered MDF – ideal for indoor use, not suitable for damp or outdoor environments

• Bamboo – more water resistant and suitable for items like name badges, but lightweight and not recommended for outdoor signage in windy conditions

To ensure longevity, we recommend keeping all items dry and avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture.

Will I see a proof?

Proofs are not provided as standard - if you need one, please request it in the personalisation box when ordering.
