Frequently asked questions

Do Not Disturb or Please Do Not Disturb?

This one reads Do Not Disturb. The bamboo Please Do Not Disturb hanger is the same size with the softer wording; in oak, one listing offers both as a dropdown.

Bamboo or oak?

Same size and hole. Bamboo is paler with a fine, even grain and carries FSC chain-of-custody certificate BV-COC-190523; oak veneer has a warmer colour and a more visible grain. Our bamboo vs oak vs plywood comparison covers how each engraves.

Will it fit my door handle?

The 51mm hole slips over a standard round knob or the lever of most UK internal doors. For a wide bar handle or a lever you cannot slide it over, the open-hook door hanger hooks on from the side; for hotel handles with a large rose, the wide hotel door hanger has a 70mm hole.

Which Do Not Disturb hanger should I order?

Compact 89 × 144mm: oak with logo and custom text, oak with a choice of two wordings, bamboo Do Not Disturb or bamboo Please Do Not Disturb. Full-height 203 × 89mm: oak with your name or logo. Two-sided for a room that is sometimes free: the reversible hotel hanger or the Yep / Nope hanger. Our guide to do not disturb signs and door hangers compares them.

Returns

Materials & Care

Our products are made from natural materials, including:

• Oak veneered MDF – ideal for indoor use, not suitable for damp or outdoor environments

• Bamboo – more water resistant and suitable for items like name badges, but lightweight and not recommended for outdoor signage in windy conditions

To ensure longevity, we recommend keeping all items dry and avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture.

Will I see a proof?

Proofs are not provided as standard - if you need one, please request it in the personalisation box when ordering.
