Frequently asked questions

Which size is best for an OO gauge layout?

Small (200×50mm). It is not a scale platform board — that would be a few centimetres long — but a layout name board, fascia label or backscene feature. For O and G gauge the Medium sits closer to scale.

Can I use a made-up or fictional station name?

Yes — add any text in the personalisation box. We don't reproduce railway company logos or trademarks.

How is this different from the full-size railway station sign?

Same nameboard and sizes; this listing's ordering guidance is for layouts and display. The full-size sign is the one for a room or door, and the award version for railway long service presentations.

Materials & Care

Our products are made from natural materials, including:

• Oak veneered MDF – ideal for indoor use, not suitable for damp or outdoor environments

• Bamboo – more water resistant and suitable for items like name badges, but lightweight and not recommended for outdoor signage in windy conditions

To ensure longevity, we recommend keeping all items dry and avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture.

Will I see a proof?

Proofs are not provided as standard - if you need one, please request it in the personalisation box when ordering.
