A double-sided In Use / Free door hanger laser-engraved on 5mm FSC-certified Moso bamboo (certificate BV-COC-190523), 89mm wide by 144mm tall — In Use on one face, Free on the other. The 5mm bamboo is thicker and heavier in the hand than the 4mm oak version, and better suited to a door that is knocked and flipped many times a day. Hangs over the door handle through a 51mm hole — no fixings, no drilling. The hanger is bamboo only, with no plastic, and orders are dispatched without plastic packaging. Made to order in our workshop in North Wales.

Frequently asked questions

Why 5mm rather than 3mm bamboo?

Bamboo is strong along its fibres but can split if pressure is applied across them. A thicker section gives a crack more material to travel through before it can run — the reasoning is in why we made a 5mm bamboo range.

Can I change the wording?

Yes — type the two words or short phrases you want, one per face, in the personalisation box.

Will it fit my door handle?

The 51mm hole slips over a standard round knob or the lever of most UK internal doors. For a wide bar handle or a lever you cannot slide it over, the open-hook door hanger hooks on from the side; for hotel handles with a large rose, the wide hotel door hanger has a 70mm hole.

Which In Use / Free hanger should I order?

Oak, standard wording for the lowest cost; oak with your logo on both faces for a branded clinic or salon; 5mm bamboo for the thickest, most knock-resistant version. All three are 89 × 144mm with a 51mm hole. The Occupied bamboo hanger is the one-sided alternative.

Materials & Care

Our products are made from natural materials, including:

• Oak veneered MDF – ideal for indoor use, not suitable for damp or outdoor environments

• Bamboo – more water resistant and suitable for items like name badges, but lightweight and not recommended for outdoor signage in windy conditions

To ensure longevity, we recommend keeping all items dry and avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture.

Will I see a proof?

Proofs are not provided as standard - if you need one, please request it in the personalisation box when ordering.
