A plaque is a sign made to be kept: a family name and the year you moved in, a couple's names and wedding date, a poem read at a funeral, a dedication for thirty years' service. The words are laser-engraved into the oak rather than printed on it, so they do not fade or peel, and the finished plaque sits on a wall or shelf the way a framed print would, without the glass. Each product page shows the layout, border and sizes for that plaque.

Sizes and fixings
Hanging plaques come in four sizes — 102 × 74mm, 158 × 115mm, 225 × 164mm and 270 × 190mm — with two pre-drilled holes and a jute string loop. Square plaques are 190 × 190mm. Poem plaques are 198 × 195mm, A4 (210 × 297mm) or A3 (297 × 420mm); the scroll-border wall plaque, the scalloped A4 plaque and the A3 plaque hang from a hook on the reverse. Each product page lists its exact size and fixing.
Materials
Plaques are laser-engraved on 4mm FSC-certified oak veneered MDF; the bamboo plaque is 3mm FSC-certified Moso bamboo (certificate BV-COC-190523). The engraving is cut into the surface, not printed. Orders are dispatched without plastic packaging. Every plaque here is for indoor use: oak veneered MDF does not tolerate damp, so it suits a wall in a home, church, hall or clubhouse rather than a bench, grave or memorial garden.
Personalisation
Type your wording in the personalisation box exactly as you want it to read, line breaks included. The standard typeface is Garamond; say in the box if you would like a different one. Two plaques can be written for you: the poem plaque with the writing service (give us the recipient's name and a few details about them) and the surname meaning plaque (give us the surname). Proofs are not provided as standard — ask for one in the personalisation box if you want to see the layout first.
Bulk discount pricing
Discounts are applied automatically at checkout per product — no code needed. A single plaque as a gift does not reach the tiers; twenty matching long-service plaques for a club does.

Frequently asked questions
What can I have engraved on a wooden plaque?
Any wording you type: a family name and the year you moved in, a couple's names and a date, a favourite poem, an in-memoriam verse with a name and dates, or a retirement dedication. It is engraved exactly as typed in the personalisation box.
How many words fit on a poem plaque?
About 130–160 words on a 198 × 195mm plaque, 250–300 on an A4 plaque, and roughly twice the A4 amount on the A3 plaque. A name and a date suit the hanging plaques.
Can you write the words for me?
Yes, on two plaques. The poem plaque with the professional writing service is written from the recipient's name and a few details about their interests, and the surname meaning plaque comes with the origin of the family name written for you. You can supply your own words on both instead.
Can a memorial plaque go outside on a bench or grave?
No. Oak veneered MDF does not tolerate damp, so the memorial plaque is for an indoor wall — a home, church, hall or clubhouse.
Is there a plaque for an office or a business?
For an office or consulting-room door, the personalised oak plaque with no holes fixes with sticky pads. For customers, QR code plaques link to your Google reviews, menu or WiFi.
